On every project, our aim remains the same: to provide engineering designs that are developed in collaboration with our client and the end user so that every consideration is integrated into the designs before construction drawings are finalised.

Our clients value our ability to provide a complete package of design services – from initial site surveys and investigations (including geotechnical, topographical, track gauge and utilities) to lead design, feasibility and detail designs, temporary works and site support.

Since the formation of VEDA Associates in 2012, our team of engineers, architects and CAD technicians have earned a reputation for delivering challenging projects on-time and on-budget.

Buildability and maintainable designs are core to any VEDA design, and our experience in Temporary Works reinforces our knowledge in the safe support of structures when least stable.

In the rail sector, we are lead consultants and are well versed in the assurance of Network Rail and London Underground projects. Our team includes both Contractors Responsible Engineers (CRE) and Contractors Engineering Managers (CEM) that have been accepted by Network Rail for major civil and multi-disciplinary schemes.

In May 2015, Achilles completed VEDA Associates’ annual RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme) audit. 

On completion of the audit, VEDA Associates achieved the maximum of 4 stars available on a first audit without any discrepancies, non-conformances or observations. 

Achieving RISQS demonstrates our company’s commitment to maintaining a Safety Management System and safe systems of work that are specific to the risks faced when working in a railway environment. We are actively working towards achieving ISO 9001 in 2015.

 

Imran Khan, Managing Director

Imran Khan is a chartered civil engineer with experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in rail, retail, infrastructure and residential sectors.
He has taken on senior roles in client, consultant and contractor organisations including Tube Lines, Donaldson Associates, Robert West and Spence.

Post graduation he was actively involved with Loughborough University’s Centre for Innovative and Collaborative Construction Engineering, and developed a new panelised building system that was specified and used on national PFI school-building schemes by Jarvis Construction and Balfour Beatty and Carillion, in the Midlands, Northern England and Scotland.

During more than a decade of delivering engineering projects for Network Rail, London Underground and DLR, Imran has forged strong relationships with both rail clients and national contractors, and is actively employed as a lead consultant to manage multi-disciplinary project teams.

Imran has also been signed off by Network Rail as Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) and Contractors Responsible Engineer on route frameworks and high value projects.

While at Tube Lines and Donaldson Associates, Imran was involved in the production of tunnel lining design (cast iron and concrete) for rail, power and water infrastructure projects. He acted as the lead designer for the reference design for £35 million project at Green Park Station that involved the design of a complex sprayed concrete tunnel and shaft connection adjacent to sensitive underground infrastructure.

Imran remains actively involved in the day to day delivery of engineering projects and as project director is involved in reviewing projects to provide a senior level of support to the project team.
